Does every Amazon product ship directly to the Dominican Republic?

No. Direct delivery depends on the marketplace, seller, exact product and Dominican address. Some shoppers compare a courier when direct delivery is unavailable.

Are Amazon orders under US$200 tax free in the Dominican Republic?

Dominican Customs says personal courier shipments with an FOB value of US$200 or less can enter without customs taxes, although its FAQ identifies a US$0.25-per-kilogram customs charge. Commercial or regulated shipments can be treated differently.

Do I need to keep the Amazon invoice?

Yes. Dominican Customs explains that the invoice helps verify the package value. Keep the order invoice, payment confirmation and tracking information.

Short answer

Check the exact listing before ordering

Some Amazon listings can be delivered directly to the Dominican Republic. Other shoppers use a courier address, but availability, cost and customs treatment depend on the exact order and delivery route.

Check on Amazon

Set your Dominican delivery address before searching Amazon to identify listings that offer direct delivery. If comparing a courier service, treat that as a separate route with its own registration, fees and handling terms.

A product appearing in Amazon search does not confirm direct delivery. Seller, variation and dispatch origin can change the available option. Compare the complete direct-delivery total with any courier membership, transport and handling costs before deciding.

Before checkout

How to confirm delivery to Dominican Republic

Check the live listing in this order. Search results alone do not confirm that the selected product can be sent to your address.

1Set Amazon's destination to the Dominican address that will receive the order
2Select the exact product variation and seller and check whether direct delivery is offered
3If using a courier, compare its registration, transport, weight and handling terms separately
4Review the complete expected cost and retain the invoice and payment record

Check direct delivery first

Use the final Dominican address to see whether the selected seller offers it.

Separate courier costs

A courier can charge transport and handling even when customs tax relief applies.

Keep the invoice

Dominican Customs can require proof of purchase and shipment value.

Delivery restrictions

Dominican import rules and carrier policies apply to both direct and courier shipments. Personal tax treatment does not cover goods considered commercial because of their quantity or nature, and regulated products can require additional clearance. Check the exact item and route.

VAT, duty and import costs

Dominican Customs states that personal courier shipments with an FOB value of US$200 or less can be imported without customs taxes. Its FAQ notes a US$0.25-per-kilogram customs charge for courier goods below that threshold. Shipments above US$200, commercial quantities and regulated goods follow different rules. This courier treatment should not be assumed for every direct postal route.

Returns

Return conditions depend on the Amazon marketplace, seller and delivery route. If a courier is involved, Amazon's responsibility and the courier's responsibility are separate. Check both sets of terms and keep the invoice, tracking and customs records.
